Cultural Diversity and Professional Ethics

Your clients will likely include diverse cultures, races, and ethnicity and, at times, those who are mentally and/or physically handicapped. In order to promote your skills and knowledge as a massage therapist, cultural awareness is essential when working with a variety of people of different backgrounds and beliefs.

Understanding the ramifications of bias, discrimination, and stereotyping is important, not only on a professional ethical level, but a personal one as well.

Cultural awareness will help you improve the quality of your massage sessions while increasing your sensitivity and awareness in the workplace. This awareness will prove effective in helping to eliminate cultural barriers. If we all take responsibility in learning about and appreciating diversity in our society, it will increase our chances of successful encounters with others.

Course Information

  • You take the final exa  five (5) times. After 5 attempts, the exam will lock and you will not be able to take the exam again.
  • You may see the final exam before you start reading the course. All exam information is in BOLD throughout the course.
  • If you need to take the exam more than once, check your correct and incorrect answers before continuing on.
  • If there are Green Checks Marks by the course material or the exams, the chapter or course has already been taken. If you have not completed these chapters or the exam with this new purchase, please STOP and contact me by using the CONTACT US link on the top bar of the website
  • If this course is part of a bundle that you’ve purchased, you are limited to completing only 12 CE’S in the bundle in one calendar day. This is an individual state law and NCBTMB requirement. Each course has the number of CE’S next to the course title. You are required to follow the state laws when completing online/distance courses!
  • The final exam questions are available for your review prior to the test. You may print/screenshot/take a photo of the questions so you have them available as you review the course. Write down your answers as you read through the course and then transfer them to the final exam. A copy of the final exam questions are located in the first lesson.
  • Exam answers are multiple choice
  • Certificate is emailed to you when you pass the exam with 70%
  • Click on the first course title to begin
  • Mark Complete to move to the next section of the course
  • Courses are pass/fail. There are no grades on your certification and no “points” are listed on your account.
  • Courses are available immediately
  • All courses and certificates are available in your account for one year. Make sure to save your certifications. After 1 year, your account information closes and is no longer available.

A copy of the “Final Exam Questions” are found in the first chapter of the course prior to taking the course.
