Washington DC Continuing Education Requirements

Massage Therapist must complete fourteen (14) hours of approved CEUs which shall include:
Three (3) CEUs in ethics
Two (2) CEUs in LGBTQ cultural competency
Nine (9) CEs in massage-related course work; six (6) of which shall be in massage technique course (s);
10% (1.5 hours) of Public Health Priorities; and
Current CPR and First AID certification

District of Columbia

Licenses expire on January 31 every two years on odd numbered years. 

14 Hours of Continuing Education is required to renew

3 Hours of Professional Ethics (Can be taken online – we offer in our Professional Ethics Bundle)

2 Hours in LGBTQ Studies (Can be taken online & is scheduled to be offered here in Aug. 2024)

1.5 Hours in Health-Related Issues (Our HIV/AIDS, 3 CE and Human Trafficking, 3 CE meet this req)

A total of 8 CE’S may be taken online IF 3 of those CE’S are Professional Ethics course
