Michigan Continuing Education Requirements

Please note that massage therapy laws change frequently and vary from state to state. Although we try to provide the most accurate information available, ultimately it is the responsibility of the student to contact their state licensing bureau to verify massage licensing renewal requirements.

Currently, we understand that Michigan requires the following

18 CE hours every three years
(Minimum) Two of these hours must be in Professional Ethics
(Minimum) One hour  Pain and Symptom Management
One hour Human Trafficking (Must complete only one time outside of CE Hours)
  • You may take 17 CE hours online
  • You can use any of our Ethics continuing education courses to satisfy Michigan requirement
  • MassageCElearningtree is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider and the Michigan Board of Massage will accept our CE to satisfy –___________hours of the MI requirement.

R 338.726 Accreditation; standards; adoption by reference.  
Rule 26. The board shall approve a massage therapy supervised curriculum that meets  
the requirements of R 338.722(2) and complies with 1 of the following:  
(a) Is a national certification board for therapeutic massage and bodywork’s (ncbtmb)  
assigned school that is researched and approved by the ncbtmb and meets ncbtmb’s  
minimum curriculum requirements.
