Massage Continuing Education State Board Regulations

Massage License Renewal Requirements

  • 24 Continuing Education hours (CE) must be completed to renew your massage license by October 31st every even year

  • All continuing education (CE hours) may be completed online

  • Students may not complete more than 12 continuing education hours in one calendar day

  • Maryland DOES NOT accept Aromatherapy courses for massage license renewal (updated 10-1-2024)

(7 CE) Mandatory course requirements: 

  • 3 Hrs. Ethics OR Jurisprudence, Mandatory 
  • 3 Hrs. in Communicable Diseases including HIV/AIDS, Mandatory
  • 1 Hr. Diversity OR Cultural Competency, Mandatory
  • Implicit Bias Training (take one time) approved by the Cultural and Linguistic Healthcare Professional Competency Board and links to this course can be found in our course bundles.
  • Must possess an unexpired CPR certificate (LMTs Healthcare Provider Level & RMP’s Basic CPR) at the time of renewal.

  • Maryland accepts NCBTMB approved CE courses for massage license renewal. MassageCElearningtree is an NCBTMB approved provider #450015-06
